The Power of routine
We all dream of being the next Steve Jobs, Oprah, or name any other high achiever that comes to mind. The power of that image is so motivating.
What is the key ingredient in the success of high achievers? The power of routine.
Do you manage your time?
Do you use a calendar?
Do you do the same thing each night and each morning?
START WITH A PURPOSE
Most high achievers start at the crack of dawn. They start with a purpose. So what if you have a normal 8-5 job? You can still begin early. Gandhi started his day at 4am. He would have prayers, study, and walk. Richard Branson wakes up at 5:45am to run over 300 companies and believes that starting early is one of the keys to success. Benjamin Franklin started his day with the question, "What good shall I do today?", in other words, with purpose.
Start each day by making the bed. This starts your day right. First achievement of the day...and it makes it so that when you go to bed your bed is all ready and comfy.
Incorporating exercise into your routine actually helps your body and your mind. It's invigorating and awakening. So, incorporating it into your morning routine is such an amazing way to start the day. However, if that is not possible, be sure to incorporate it somewhere. Richard Branson starts the day with a swim around his island. Charles Darwin started the day with a short walk. Victor Hugo included daily strenuous exercise.
Reading is also a key to success for these high achievers. Charles Darwin's days consisted of daily reading. Beethoven spent serious time reading. Winston Churchill would start the day by reading and catching up on the news. Warren Buffet spends about 80% of his time reading.
Set goals. Set small goals that are steps to get you to your bigger goals. High achievers stay focused on their goals, on their causes. They don't get distracted from those goals.
These high achievers find a way to impact the world in a positive way. This becomes their goal, their life cause.
FIND YOUR PASSION
Do you have a passion? Try to discover your passion.
Do you have big dreams? Move on them. Take steps to reach those dreams.
FALL IN LOVE WITH YOURSELF
Find yourself and then fall in love with yourself. I think that within that love, you will find your passion and a way to make it happen, a way to make it so that your contribution to society sparkles and shines, making a difference.
GO GET IT
You have everything you need within you to make your dreams come true. You got this! Now go get it.
