Turmeric is one of the hot color Pantones for Spring/Summer 2019. It's bright, cheery, and also has deep color meaning.
It may just look like orange, but if you have seen the spice (Turmeric), it really does resemble this color.
Some are calling this Turmeric Yellow. While others say it reflects a rust orange color.
I'd say that the color is kind of between the two, or maybe there are multiple hues of Turmeric Pantone.
"Turmeric, sometimes called Indian saffron, is most widely known as the spice that gives curry powder its distinctive color. The gingery/peppery, deep yellow spice is a cooking staple throughout Asia. It perfectly complements an assortment of vegetable, lentil and rice dishes. The pungent, earthy flavor of turmeric also enhances seafood or poultry with its warm color and hint of ginger flavor.
Often used as food coloring, the hues of turmeric range from bright yellow to deep orange, depending on the variety. Think of yellow mustard, golden butter and orange cheese, all of which can get their vibrant color from turmeric. Because of its rich color, turmeric is sometimes used in place of the more costly saffron, though the flavors are completely different. " ~ Frontier Coop
"the blend of red and yellow, is a mixture of the energy associated with red and the happiness associated with yellow. Orange is associated with meanings of joy, warmth, heat, sunshine, enthusiasm, creativity, success, encouragement, change, determination, health, stimulation, happiness, fun, enjoyment, balance, sexuality, freedom, expression, and fascination.
"the color of joy and creativity. Orange promotes a sense of general wellness and emotional energy that should be shared, such as compassion, passion, and warmth. Orange will help a person recover from disappointments, a wounded heart, or a blow to one’s pride." Bourn Creative
