Trying to create a versatile wardrobe can be a challenge for most people. Most of us buy things on purpose and with a vision of how they will fit together. Often our purchases do not include all of the ways these wardrobe items could be worn, styled, and/or all of the things we could wear or style them with.
Here is just one example. A floral skirt worn three ways.
A floral skirt is variety just waiting to happen. Floral skirts are typically multi-colored and multi-shaped. This makes them the perfect piece for creating a wealth of different looks.
tAbove, I am picking up the white in this skirt. Of course, this wall picks up all sorts of gorgeous pink hues that could potentially add another whole look...definitely something for me to think of in future purchases of blouses and shoes.
While this white shirt and sweater play it safe, the while does allow you to use jewelry (like a chunky necklace) to pick up some other color in the skirt and create a very different looking outfit or two.
In this above picture, the wall is really picking up the blues in this skirt, which gives me all sorts of ideas for future outfits.
However, the focus I am looking for is the purple sweater bringing out all of the beautiful purple hues in this gorgeous floral skirt. I chose to go with more of a lilac color (on the lighter side of purple), which also brings out some of the purple-pink colors.
Amazing what different colors can do.
Lastly (for this skirt), between the yellow background, yellow sweater and yellow shoes, you really see all of the yellow in this skirt that you may have otherwise missed. Using yellow also brings out some of the yellow-greens.
As you can see, variety isn't quite as hard with a pattern (such as floral) that includes a variety of shapes and colors to work with.
