Conscious Consuming

Brrr. It is COLD outside! In some areas of the country (even other countries). Time to wear some warm layers. What kind of layers do you want next to your skin?

The best type of comfy fabric, best next to your skin, is 100% cotton. Even better is 100% organic cotton. 

​Organic cotton is hypoallergenic. That means it isn’t going to irritate the skin on you or your loved ones.

About 25 million tons of cotton are grown yearly around the globe. Only organic cotton is hypoallergenic. Chemicals are not used on organic cotton like they are on conventional cotton. Nature got it right.

​How do you know that a product is actually made from organic cotton? There are currently two organic cotton certifications. They are easy to Google so feel free to check them out.

Also, organic cotton is best because it’s healthier for the farmers. They don’t have to breathe in the harmful, harsh chemicals like the ones used in the farming process of conventional cotton.

Do your clothes contain harsh, toxic dyes? You should find the answer to this. Do they contain things like formaldehyde? These are not healthy for your skin or for the environment.

It’s time to be conscious shoppers. Conscious consumers. Our planet is important and so are our lives and those of our loved ones. What we wear matters.
